A lovely hotel in walkiing distance of the Assi Ghat. The rooftop Green Cafe offer Coffee Day drinks and meals or snacks can be outside or in an a/c dining room. They delivered soup to my room but there was no room service menu. A lovely place to recuperate from the heat and outside chaos.
Best Hotel in Varanasi We stayed a week at Banares Haveli and had an amazing experience there. Here's why it's TRULY a cut above the rest: 1. The location -located on the Assi Ghat, you're part of the action, but in a quieter area. The morning prayers are performed at Assi Ghat, which are beautiful, and you're not far from the burning ghats which are great, but much more hectic. 2. The quality -I'm sure there are more luxury hotels in Varanasi -- but not this close to the river. Trust me, I've done my research. In fact, we had a different place booked, and ended up moving in Banares Haveli because it was terrible. The rooms are modern, and clean, and the beds are comfy. 3. The breakfasts -are really good! And, you get to enjoy on a rooftop, overlooking the Ganges. What a treat. 4. The STAFF- Okay, this was the biggie. When I checked in, I mentioned that I would be spending my birthday here, and on the day of, they set up flowers, balloons, and a cake in my room. It was the nicest thing ever. On top of that,everyone was just so pleasant and friendly and professional the whole time we were there. Seriously, seriously, stay here. The thing about Varanasi is that it's AWESOME, but also crazy, and loud, and dirty. Having a sanctuary to call home during your time here is pretty important, and we found that at Banares Haveli. Thank you thank you thank you for making our time there so memorable.
Ganges Clean, comfortable room.....walking distance to the ghats...vibrant street scene. Wonderful wedding ceremony happened right in front of the hotel since there's several temples near hotel. Hotel has decent restaurant w/view of Ganges
Wonderful hotel & great place to stay in Varanasi.Last week I had the distinct pleasure of staying the night at this superb hotel for business. My stay was absolutely perfect.This hotel is situated right beside the river and over looking the ghats, so you feel right in the heart of Varanasi. The Ganges View was a very pleasant surprise.I owe it to myself to have a beautiful comfortable retreat to come back to.Thank you for the excellent service! Everyone from the front desk to the breakfast dining room staff to the cleaning staff provided great service.Food was excellent.The room was clean, comfortable and had all the facilities one could want. All the staff I dealt with were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay. I will strongly recommend the hotel to friends who has plans to visit Varanasi.
Awesome place to stay. Well furnished rooms with very great hospitality. I had a pleasant stay and will surely come back here in my next trip. The best part of it is the restaurant at the rooftop making my trip, a memorable one.
Best Place To Stay for personalised services In Varanasi Usually I stay at 3 star hotels in Varanasi.But during my last two visits i stayed here.Its amazing.I like this hotel since it is located on Asi Ghat which is very near to river Ganges and the roof top restaurant has a beautiful view of Ganges.They have a A.C. banquet restaurant overlooking to the Ganges also.I visited the ghat every morning and evening and witnessed some cultural programmes going on so staying here was more worthful than just staying. The food served was fresh,hot, well cooked and in time.I appreciate that they make food as per your taste as you can just tell them how spicy/ simple you want to have.The Hotel has an elevator which is a plus point for elders and disables. The rooms are well decorated and all seem to be new.looked unmatched to one another.All rooms different. Wow !! Innovative idea. They showed me a few rooms on my first visit and all I always had hot shower and they ask you for cleaning everyday. The rooms on ground floor are cheaper than rooms on upper floors.You can easily reach here by car.The manager always greets you with a smile every time you enter in hotel and they carefully take care of all of your requests. There are birds just behind the reception which catch your interest. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.
Ótima localização e limpo. Excelent location and clean. All the staff is very nice and helpful. Especially the man that opens the front door, Mr. Mohit. The apartament is clean and comfortable. The building is new, so it makes a lot of different. There is also a nice restaurant on the roof top. It is very close to the Assi Ghat. Walking distance, 200m.
Close to Ganges river Good service, clean rooms and safe, Middle of the narrow streets just 5 min walk from where the Hindu morning session takes place. Top floor, a nice restaurant with good and tasty food. Fantastic view over the city as well Ganges river.
Excellent Ambience and roof top view. Very close to Assi ghat and all other ghats. Courteous staff. Great service on all fronts. The room freshner can be improved. Its scenic surroundings gives the edge over highend properties.
Restaurant on top floor takes credit and debit.The staff is extremely attentive and kind. They showed us a few rooms before we decided on one, which I thought was a magnificent gesture. It was really nice to see where we were going to be staying before we payed them .I really had no complaints about the room. We chose one without a view, but there are many rooms with a view of the Ganges.The food was really wonderful here. There is a terrace on the fifth floor that offers a pretty great view. After a long day of looking for an ATM that had money or a bank, we almost cried with joy when we discovered that they took credit card.
Thank you Banaras Haveli! We originally had a reservation in another place, but it was so disappointing that we decided to explore other hotels in the same area. As a difference with other hotels we visited, in Banaras Haveli they showed us - without any compromise - different rooms, and we found them much better than the ones we have been staying during our trip: for sure and without any doubt the cleanest sheets (no perfectly clean but the best we saw) and the best shower we could try in all India.The breakfast is not the best but the good personal attention and service during our stay make the difference.They also adjust the price to our budget and changed our room without any problem to another because the first one was a little bit noisy. The area is very nice and quiet, and very close to de early morning ceremony that happens at 5:00 at Assi Ghat. We walked everyday through all the Ghats to the main Ghats without any problem (it´s a very nice walk). Seeing how was the area closer to the rematory Ghats we felt really happy to stay a little bit far of them.In conclusion, we really enjoy our stay at the hotel, specially after the exhausting days walking around Varanasi. So thank you Banaras Haveli for helping us to survive and have a pleasant stay in Varanasi. :)
Awesome Accommodation with decent price 7 members of my family went to Varanasi, had booked a stay in Sita Guest House on ghat seeing the reviews and pic i thought it would be awesome, when i went there to see the room i was made to walk almost a kilometer in that small gully and showed a room on second floor which was not easily accessible, no lift and the steps were so steep. It was in pathetic condition. Then our driver took us to Banaras Haveli, my family members liked it very much, we stayed there for 3 nights in 2 rooms. Spoke to the Hotel owner and got very decent price excluding breakfast. We were very happy with the rooms. Roof top restaurant is another beauty. Had food in the same hotel all the days. Overall a very great experience. Would definitely stay in the same hotel on my next visit and highly recommend to families as it is very close to Assi ghat where one can walk to see the beauty of sunrise and Ganga Aarathi early in the morning and evenings.Visited in October last year, dint get time to post my review. Hence posting it now.

Nice room and service With only 24 hours to spend in Varansi, I selected this hotel based on excellent location - a few steps from the Assi Ghat with with fabulous early morning ceremony. Room was spacious, very clean, modern (a new hotel) with all amenities. Staff is especially friendly and service oriented. On arrival, the front desk arranged an excellent guide for me that insured I made the most of my short visit, including dawn and dusk boat rides, University, several temples and Sarnath! Rooftop cafe quite pleasant for breakfast (other meals are provided as well, but I had only breakfast). I found no negatives with this hotel stay. Although I usually stay in more upscale (e.g. 4-star) hotels, this place was perfect and lacked no convenience or quality. I highly recommend and plan to return here when I have more time to spend in this fascinating city.
I loved the stay at this hotel! Banares Haveli is a very nice and clean place! They have very nice and spacious rooms! The wifi is very good and strong! The breakfast is very nice and delicious! The terrace is beautiful and has a nice view of the Ganges river! My friend, pandey mithlesh, was an amazing front office manager, help us with everything, was funny and always smiling. He made the stay even better! It was greatly appreciated! Thank you Hotel banares Haveli!!
Excellent experience. Service was excellent and the staff were friendly and went out of their way to assist. Hotel is well located in a popular area near the ghats, allowing great experience of Varanasi life, Rooms are well maintained, clean and comfortable, and very quiet. Will be recommending to others for those wanting good quality that still allows the true experience of being in Varanasi life.
